All three of the county’s Bank of America locations continue to be closed and there is no timetable for reopening, according to company spokesman Matthew Daily.
Daily said the situation remains fluid and urged customers to check on the Bank of America app to keep abreast of when their local branch will reopen.
“The closures are dynamic and changing every day,” Daily said. “It’s impossible to give a (reopening date) today. “We (are looking) at them on a case-by-case basis.”
Daily said the bank temporarily closed branches nationwide to ensure the safety of employees and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“They’re just temporary and the goal is to open them as fast as they can,” he said.
Reopening branches will depend on such factors as customer activity and level of staffing.
Daily said customers can call one of the open branches in their area to make an appointment to access their safety deposit box at one of the closed sites. They can also do so by making an appointment online.
In Citrus County, the closed branches include the Homosassa Springs location at 4395 U.S. 19, the Beverly Hills branch at 3505 County Road 491 and the Crystal River site at 450 Southeast U.S. 19.
The company included this message online at each of those branches:
“Please visit one of our neighboring ATMs or utilize Online and Mobile Banking, all of which are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To make an appointment to access your safe deposit box during regular business hours, email us your full name, address and phone number at: firstname.lastname@example.org.”
